Highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak in Slovakia

Food Partners News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on January 8, 2021, the Veterinary and Food Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture of Slovakia reported to OIE that a highly pathogenic type A had occurred in Slovakia Flu epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Kosice, Kosice, and was confirmed on January 8, 2021. The source of the epidemic was exposure to wild species. Laboratory tests revealed that 3 mute-nosed ducks were suspected to be infected and became ill, 2 of them died, and 1 was killed and disposed of.
  The epidemic is still continuing. The Veterinary and Food Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture of Slovakia will submit follow-up reports every week.
