H5N5 highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak in Slovenia

Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on January 4, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia notified OIE that a highly pathogenic influenza A had occurred in Slovenia epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Koper, Slovenia. It was confirmed on December 29, 2020. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests revealed that one mute swan became ill and was killed and disposed of.
  The epidemic is still continuing, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia will submit a follow-up report every week.
