Foot-and-mouth disease cases detected in Oshikoto Province, Namibia

  According to local media reports, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Agrarian Reform of Namibia issued an announcement stating that a case of foot-and-mouth disease was detected in Oshikoto Province. Since the outbreak was first detected at the end of last year, the five northern provinces of Oshikoto, Ohangwena, Osana, Omsati, and Cunene have been declared as foot-and-mouth disease control areas, and the use of live ungulates and animals is prohibited. Its products are transported in transit in these areas. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture of Namibia has strengthened its monitoring of the region. (Headquarters reporter Ma Peimin)
