From Intrafish’s news on January 7, Chilean salmon producer Camanchaca released preliminary data for the fourth quarter of last year showing a double-digit decline in production.
In the last three months of last year, the company’s salmon catch was 18,620 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.5%. The Atlantic salmon catch was 15,801 tons, with an average weight of 5.6 kg, and the coho salmon catch was 2,819 tons, with an average weight of 4.4 kg. .
Camanchaca’s annual salmon catch in 2020 is 56,596 tons, including 52,982 tons of Atlantic salmon, with an average weight of 5.4 kg, and coho salmon with an average weight of 3,614 tons, with an average weight of 4.3 kg.
Camanchaca expects that salmon catches will reach more than 60,000 tons in 2023.
