Announcement of the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration on the Results of Food Safety Supervision and Sampling Inspection in December 2020 (No. 13 of 2021)

   In December 2020, the market supervision departments at all levels in Guangdong Province completed a total of 56185 batches of food safety supervision and sampling, and 1579 batches were unqualified. The overall unqualified detection rate was 2.81%, an increase of 0.35 percentage points over the same period in 2019. Among them, the unqualified rates of sampling inspection of dairy products, egg products, meat products, processed food products, edible agricultural products and edible oil, fats and their products with large consumption are 0.36%, 0.63%, 1.04%, 1.27%, and 3.09%, respectively , 2.37%.    From the perspective of unqualified items, the main problems found are pesticide and veterinary drug residues and microbial contamination, accounting for 33.06%and 26.01%of the total number of unqualified items respectively; Heavy metals and other pollutants accounted for 15.66%of the total number of unqualified issues, labeling issues accounted for 9.88%of the total number of unqualified issues, and over-range and over-limit use of food additives accounted for 9.36%of the total number of unqualified issues. The quality index was not up to standard. The ratio of problems to the total number of unqualified is 5.14%.
