A highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak in Hungary

Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on January 11, 2021, the Food Chain Safety Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary notified OIE that a highly pathogenic influenza A had occurred in Hungary epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Somod Village, Komarom-Esztergom State, and it was confirmed on January 6, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory testing revealed that one Great Egret died of illness.
  The epidemic is still continuing, and the Food Chain Safety Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary will submit follow-up reports every week.
